POSITION SUMMARY:
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Louisiana as well as board certified NNP. The NNP will provide care in an advanced practice nursing role, under approved protocols, for infants and their families in the delivery room, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Mother/Baby Unit/Baby Lounge, in collaboration with attending Neonatologists. The NNP collaborates as necessary with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage a client's healthcare problems. The NNP must practice in accordance with the respective Board-approved standards of practice: Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Standards for the Nursing Care of Women and Newborns; and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses Scope and Standards of Practice for Neonatal Nursing.
